Today we spent all day in the countryside and I couldn’t resist taking lots of photos. Do you know what an olive tree flower looks like?

A Spring day in the Tuscan countryside

Today we spent all day in the countryside after we finished preparing Casina di Rosa, our vacation rental in Tuscany, for the new guests. I took the dog for a walk in the countryside on my parents’ property and I couldn’t resist taking lots of photos.

The roses are fully in bloom and are spectacular. The jasmine at Casina di Rosa is also in bloom and smells so good!

But the most spectacular thing I saw today (besides a really cool woodpecker nest in a plum tree!) were the olive trees completely covered in white flowers! Most people don’t even know what an olive tree flower looks like.

Here you are then: take a look at my photos of a day of May in the Tuscan countryside!

  1. I still want to stay in your vacation rental in the Maremma some time. I contacted you once a long time ago but it was already booked. It looks lovely and the Maremma is a fascinating place.

  2. Hi Martha! Thank you for your comment and for your words! We would love to have you of course! We have some major renovations scheduled for the Fall, and I suppose next year we will reopen a bit later than usual. But by then, hopefully the house will be much nicer! ;o)
We have just finished renovating our Pisa apartment, http://www.behindthetower.com
If you happen to come to Pisa during the week days, let us know!
