The best shops in Pisa
My favourite spots for some serious Christmas shopping!

16 years ago, when I moved to Pisa, the city was a sleepy place. Now it’s a lively, clean, well-organized city, with many interesting events happening every week.
A great idea to help visitors and local people to get to know better the city and to visit some sites which are normally closed to the public!
The cemetery in Pisa is one of the most ancient Jewish burial grounds still in use. An interesting, little-known place in Pisa, just around the corner from the Leaning Tower.
67 years ago, 953 people died under Allies’ bombs. To the people who think some areas of the city are shabby because there is a ruin of a building or an ugly building has replaced an older palace, well, I would like to say that those are the scars of the price Pisa paid for our freedom. They are your history too. Treat them with respect.
My visit to the beautiful exhibition at Palazzo Blu dedicated to Rosellini’s expedition to Egypt.
Every city has its special day on which the various neighbourhoods battle it out to be the best in town: well Pisans are especially competitive so they have two: Regatta of San Ranieri and Gioco del Ponte.
It’s inexpensive, it’s fun, it’s social. If you don’t know what going out for an aperitivo in Tuscany means these days, you are missing out on a really cool new habit.
…for its most important festivals: La Luminara and San Ranieri. You can feel the city getting ready for the party. You can even smell it. You certainly should not miss this.
A lovely day trip from Pisa and some suggestions for restaurants and bars to try.
