This is Tuscany too: Monte Amiata
The highest mountain in Tuscany, a fabulous destination for day trips and home to one of my favourite churches, Pieve di Santa Maria ad Lamulas.

This year we have had a long, cold winter, and the countryside is a bit “behind”. But the first blossoms are coming!
I find Pisa really charming even under the rain. And when the rain stops, the colours are just gorgeous.
Mid February is the time when the first flowers appear, the fields turn green and the warm sunny days invite you to take long walks in the countryside.
Late winter is usually a nice time to visit Pisa. Here is what you can expect
And through my ears… The sound of blackbirds singing when the days start to get longer and warmer.
Nothing beats my grandmother’s home-made cantuccini, which might in fact come as a surprise to those who are used to industrial biscotti.
The gorgeous morning light, when the sun rays paint the picture perfect countryside of Tuscany

I have mixed feelings towards (travel) literature set in Tuscany because, if on the one hand they it is the best promotion for our region (and therefore, indirectly for our rentals too), on the other it sets expectations so high that we sometimes feel it might be difficult to live up to them
This blog is written by a born and bred Tuscan who wishes to share her love for this region with as many people as possible. It's about living here, but also about travelling, learning, experiencing, and enjoying life in Tuscany.
It's about feeling at home in Tuscany.
A wonderful opportunity for the independent traveller seeking privacy and a pleasant atmosphere
