So many parallels in our stories, Diana - although I'm still looking for that place that seems like home. Well done, you for following your dreams and creating your beautiful home - and opening it to others!

Wow, Diana - what a marvellous article, touching on so many aspects of what it means to feel 'at home'.

Gloria has kindly invited me to participate in her series on this topic. I am just about to send my much more prosaic contribution but glad I stopped by to read Diana's inspiring post first.

Diana's story made me reflect more on how I feel very much 'at home' in England, the country I left Canada for as a rather apprehensive young bride 42 years ago. My children were born here and I have many friends I cherise in my London suburb (interestingly, we come from far and wide and have all ended up here in North London - me from Canada, others from Sri Lanka, Kenya, Australia, Iran, Wales plus Tina, the only born-in-England member of our little group).

But, although I love to call London home (have never lost that feeling of amazement at the views and of just being here that I get whenever I cross one of the bridges over the Thames to the Southbank), when it comes down to it, Canada (and specifically my little bit of it on the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario) will always be home. In the unlikely event that England ever plays Canada at ice hockey, I'll be cheering for Canada!

From a nomad to another: thank you for saying it so perfect. I feel I have told the same story so many times and still never as good as you did. Brava!
